As a member of WoN, you will have the opportunity to:
  • develop choral music skill singing in an ensemble designed to accommodate varying levels of experience with supportive members of the sisterhood.
  • sing interesting and challenging repertoire as you develop choral music skill.
  • participate in all activities of our community choir.

Rehearsals:
WoN rehearsals take place weekly from early September to early May at The United Church in Meadowood at 1111 Dakota St. in Winnipeg.
  • Chorale: Tuesdays 7:00-9:00 PM
  • Chamber Singers: Thursdays 7:00-9:00 PM
  • Massed Choir: One Saturday per term

Joining the choir is an easy process:
  1. Apply: Fill in the jot form found below, and we will contact you to discuss questions you may have and date options for your meet and greet.
  2. Meet and Greet: An in-person meeting with the co-artistic directors that includes a vocal range test and your best rendition of O Canada. This informal audition experience will help determine the best placement for you in the choir to ensure the most positive WoN experience for you.

We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to do what they love. That's why the Women of Note Board of Directors created the Angel Fund, to provide financial help to choristers who might not be able to fulfill the financial expectations that comes with a membership. The Angel Fund is funded by choristers and patron contributions.
Women of Note acknowledges that we gather to sing and enjoy music on Treaty One Territory, the home and traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene Peoples, and on the homeland of the Metis Nation. We commit to moving forward harmoniously with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
