Pat, founder and Artistic Director of Women of Note, conducts all three ensembles: WoN Chorale,WoN Chamber Singers, and WoN Massed Choir. She first became involved in choral activity in Winnipeg as a young singer in The Winnipeg Girls' Choir under the leadership of Beth Cruikshank. Since that time, she has become well known as a singer, conductor, choral clinician, and adjudicator in activities throughout Manitoba and Canada. A music educator, she has taught music at every level in both private and public schools in the city. She has conducted all levels of school choirs and several community choirs, including The Winnipeg Girls' Junior Choir and The Winnipeg Boys' Choir.
Pat has sung in many choirs including The Baltimore Choral Art Society, The Winnipeg Singers, and The Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir. She has been a soloist in many choirs and musical events including performances of the Gilbert and Sullivan Society.
In addition to her professional work, Pat has been very involved with professional choral organizations and has served as president for the Manitoba Choral Association and on the executive committee of the Association of Canadian Choral Conductors.
In addition to directing Women of Note, Pat is currently on the Board of Directors of Manitoba Opera.
Alexis Silver - Chamber Singers Accompanist
Alexis holds Bachelor degrees in both Music and Education from the University of Manitoba. She currently directs Wind Bands and teaches Theatre at Sisler High School in Winnipeg. Alexis is thrilled to be accompanying again for the Women of Note Chorale Choir and Chamber Singers.
Alexis has enjoyed acting and directing with The Little Opera Company, Manitoba Theatre for Young People, Murder on the Menu, and Leithelle Productions. She was the Wahanowin Theatre Director in Orillia, Ontario in the summer of 2005.
